Is bodywork covered by ACC or insurance companies?
No. We therefore keep our bodywork treatment prices deliberately affordable because our services are not covered by New Zealand’s Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) or most insurance providers.
In New Zealand, ACC provides financial support for a range of injury-related treatments, but therapeutic bodywork – especially holistic or somatic modalities – is often excluded from this coverage. Similarly, most private insurance plans do not reimburse clients for bodywork sessions unless they fall under specific categories like physiotherapy or chiropractic care. As a result, all clients seeking integrative healing approaches must pay out of pocket.
We recognize this financial barrier and choose therefore to keep our treatment prices relatively low to ensure accessibility. This pricing philosophy reflects our deep commitment to community well-being and equitable access to care. By offering affordable rates, we hope to make it possible for you to benefit from consistent, high-quality bodywork without financial strain.
Some therapists who offer ACC payment facilities may be licensed to practice physical and manual healing modalities that are recognised. Unlike these therapists, we are exclusively specialised in these not-yet-recognised modalities, which we do not offer as ‘add-ons’ but as core practice treatments. Since we established Advaya in 2017, this specialisation has brought us much acclaim across New Zealand. Currently, with clients specifically visiting us from all around New Zealand, we have become firmly recognised as a truly independent bodywork practice.
As intended, Advaya continues to grow and expand exclusively on merit and reputation, as it always has, without any form of government support or endorsement. This benefits you directly, as our independence allows us to offer you exceptional care and consideration, typically unprecedented by clinics and practices that must comply with regulatory restrictions, guidelines, and administrative burdens. Instead, as part of our own Responsible Practice Guidelines, we operate in concert with our own clear-worded Code of Conduct, which you can view at any time.
You can choose between 60-minute and 90-minute sessions, with clear pricing listed in the online booking system. There are no hidden fees, and payment options include cash or bank transfer, adding flexibility for managing your personal budget.
This transparent and inclusive approach supports you if you try to navigate chronic pain, emotional stress, trauma recovery, or simply seeking regular wellness support. We believe that therapeutic bodywork should not be a luxury – it should be a resource available to anyone committed to their healing journey.
By keeping prices low and communication open, we aim to foster a safe, respectful, and financially sustainable space for holistic care.
