Answering your Bodywork Questions

We understand you may have many questions about our practice and our work you wish to have answered before booking a treatment with us. We hope to answer your questions eventually here on this new Advaya Healing web site.

As we are not quite there yet (but are working hard to make it so!) we publish this Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) page as an interim solution. This page provides quick answers to the questions you may have, as well as additional information on where you can find more detailed answers on our site in the future.

Fee & Treatment Pricing Questions

We accept cash payments at our practice and time of your treatment, and electronic bank transfers. Irrespective your preferred payment method you receive from us an invoice by email shortly after the completion of your treatment. This email is sent to the address you provided at the time of your appointment booking. 

Please note that we do NOT yet provide EFTPOS and credit card payment facilities. 

How much do bodywork treatments cost?2021-08-10T17:14:35+12:00

The prices of our treatments vary, depending on type, duration, and location. While we are still developing this site we list the prices for our treatments on our Online Booking System’s pages. 

We hope to include treatment-specific pages on our site in the nearest future. These pages will present the details of each treatment type. They will also provide different fee options for each treatment. 

As a rule of thumb, we charge approximately NZD1.10 per minute for treatments that are provided at our practice. The pricing for Home & Office Treatments is adjusted based on the distance we need to travel.

Can I claim my treatment fee at ACC?2021-08-10T17:15:02+12:00

Unfortunately, not yet. Although our bodywork treatments can be considered a type of therapy the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) does not make provisions for practices like Advaya Healing. 

We adjusted and in some cases lowered our treatment fees considerably to ensure our treatments remain affordable. Due course we may introduce a Hardship Fee Waver for clients who need our treatments but cannot afford these, for whatever reason. 

Bodywork Treatment Questions

Do I need to undress completely for a bodywork treatment?2021-08-22T07:55:12+12:00

No, you don’t. In most cases we only work on one section of your body that is most relevant to the treatment. You will almost always be wearing your lower underwear and – if you are a woman – your bra or a sports top. When we decide with you to work on your upper body we check with you if you are comfortable with removing your upper underwear.

It is absolutely important to us that you feel safe and secure. We therefore ensure you remain properly draped with sheets and towels over sections we are not treating. Draping also keeps you warm, which is beneficial to the treatment. We will never force you to do something that will make you uncomfortable.

Can I work with multiple therapists?2021-08-10T17:14:50+12:00

We strongly recommend you work with one bodywork therapist at the same time. This is to ensure we can learn how our treatments affect you, which is needed to understand how we can improve and optimise your treatments to make them completely relevant to you. Other manual interventions will obscure these results, which may not serve you eventually. 

Please understand also that the effects of different treatments can be detrimental to your physical, energetic and psychological condition. In context of manual therapy, more is not always best. 

Please let us know if you  receive other treatments or work with other therapists, please let us know. In most cases we will recommend you not to book further treatments with us. 

Treatment Booking Questions

How will I know that my booking is confirmed?2021-09-01T17:52:55+12:00

You should only consider your booking as confirmed once you received a booking confirmation email from us. You will receive this email at the address you provided during the booking process.

If you cannot locate the confirmation email within two hours after you completed the booking process, first check your SPAM or Junk folders to see if it landed there. If this is not the case, please contact us immediately through our Contact Us form. Please include the treatment type you selected, as well as the time and date you tried to book. It would also be useful to receive your phone number. We will try to rectify the problem once we received your message.

Please do not consider your booking as confirmed unless you received another confirmation email from us.

Can I book a bodywork treatment by email or phone?2021-09-01T17:43:04+12:00

We prefer you to use our online booking system. This is the most reliable and secure way by which you and all our other clients can book their treatments.

If you prefer not to submit your personal details online, for whatever reason, please use our Contact Us form instead. This form will still ask you to provide your first and last name, as well as your email address and location. Unlike the details you provide through our booking system, we only store the information you submit through our Contact Us form temporarily (48-hours disposal after reception).

Please note that we cannot guarantee any appointment requests that are not received through our online booking system.

Can I transfer my booking to someone else?2021-09-01T17:32:43+12:00

Not without our permission. Unless you confirmed this with us at least eight hours in advance of the booking we will not allow you to exchange your appointment time with someone else.

If you want to transfer your appointment, please contact us through our Contact Us form. Your appointment can only be considered as transferred when you received our permission by reply email. Only the person who wish to transfer the appointment can request permission.

What is the shortest-notice booking time?2021-09-01T17:25:23+12:00

You can book your bodywork treatment minimally eight hours in advance. If you would like to book a treatment at shorter notice, please send us an email through our Contact Us page. We will try to respond as quickly as we can never guarantee that we can fulfil your request.

Alternatively, if we treated you before, you will find our contact phone number in the booking confirmation emails we sent you previously. You may use that phone number to send us your request by text message.

We do apologise in advance if we do not respond to your messages on time.

Can I book a bodywork treatment for someone else?2021-09-01T17:15:41+12:00

Yes, you can. It is important to use the other person’s details for the booking. That means that the booking needs to be in the name of the person you book for.

Unless we arrange with you in writing and in advance otherwise we will require payment for the treatment from the person who will be treated. If you wish to pay for the treatment instead, please specify this in the ‘Notes’ section of the booking.

Alternatively, if you wish to gift a treatment may we suggest you purchase a gift voucher instead?

Can I cancel my online bodywork booking?2021-09-01T15:55:44+12:00

Yes, you can. We know from first-hand experience that appointments need to be cancelled or re-scheduled.

After you complete your online booking you receive a confirmation email that includes a cancellation link. Keep this email until the time and date of your appointment. If you need to cancel your appointment, simply click this link and follow the automated cancellation process. If you wish to reschedule your appointment, cancel your standing appointment first and book another on a more suitable date and time.

Before cancelling your standing appointment, please ensure you are familiar with our Cancellation Policy.

No, you do not have to. You will be asked to pay for your treatment at our practice, and at the end of your session. 

Please note that we do not accept credit cards or provide EFTPOS facilities. You may therefore pay with cash or by bank transfer.
