What if I feel uncomfortable during bodywork treatments?

What if I feel uncomfortable during bodywork treatments?

Feeling safe and comfortable during therapeutic bodywork is essential. If at any point during a session you feel unsafe, uneasy, or uncomfortable – whether physically, emotionally, or energetically – it’s important to honour that feeling and take action.

First and foremost, speak up. You always have the right to communicate your discomfort clearly and immediately. Whether techniques are too intense or feel invasive, or our practice feels no longer secure, let us know immediately. As professionals we will respond directly, with respect, and adjust our approaches. We will always prioritize your well-being without judgment.

You can also request modifications at any time: ask for lighter pressure, more draping, a change in technique, or even to stop the session altogether. Your consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any point.

We strongly recommend you reflect on your experience after each of your visits. If something felt inappropriate or violated your boundaries, please let us know immediately.

Whether you are an Advaya Bodywork client or not, it’s essential to choose a practitioner who listens, respects boundaries, and fosters trust. Remember, bodywork should never feel coercive or painful.

You deserve to feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout your healing journey. We suggest to always trust your instincts – they are your most reliable guide to what feels right for your body.
