Improving our online bodywork presence
Any business owner and entrepreneur knows how much effort it can take to grow a business meaningfully. It is often said that establishing a business is much easier than keeping it afloat. I know from first-hand experience that there’s much truth in that.
As we at Advaya Healing Bodywork are certainly not exempt from that rule, we continue to work on growing our practice daily, and in many ways. Some of the results of our efforts will be visible to you, whereas others will not.
Here are some of the things we’ve achieved over the last couple of weeks to keep Advaya your preferred bodywork practice…
Updated website home page
I confess to do things often back-to-front, and so it happened with the development of our website.
Like with any other type of publication, the home page of a website is typically considered the most important element. This is where ‘business is done’ but only when it arrests a visitor’s attention. Well, in my own words, as our home page probably was not worth even looking at it continued to miss that purpose by miles. Why not changing that earlier? Mostly because we actually did not need to attract more clients. Our booking system remained full for months now, and we often found ourselves booked out weeks in advance. Counter-intuitively, the last thing we needed was more clients. That has changed now.
As a result of the many changes we made to the ways by which we manage and operate Advaya Healing we have been able to open more treatment slots. Of course, this means that we can welcome more clients. That prompted us to finally give our home page a badly-needed facelift.
With more changes coming, one of the most noticeable changes to the home page probably is the inclusion of the ‘What is Fascia?’ section. That came about as a response to what so many of our clients mentioned so often; that they found it hard to explain to others what their bodywork sessions with us were about. In as much as it is short, sharp, and perhaps a little too general, we hope that this text helps solve that challenge for now. And, yes, I can proudly declare myself the creator of that fascia image. I am not ashamed of saying that I am quite proud of that pic!
New newsletter subscriber form
The earlier inceptions of our website already included a form, which could be used to subscribe to our newsletters. Unfortunately, that form never worked properly, which is why we decided to decommission it.
Now we have a new form, and one that actually works beautifully! We believe it is both simple and elegant; anyone can complete it in less than 20 seconds – which was sort of a design target to me.
The work we’ve done to that form is not immediately visible though. Most of the work went into the stuff that goes on when you submit the form, including the development an automatic email you receive to confirm your subscription.
You may also notice that we are now offering new clients a 50% discount on their first bodywork session when they subscribe to our newsletter. Why only new clients? That’s because we already have the mailing details of our existing clients on file, which means they are already included in our mail list. As our treatment fees are already very reasonable it is just not viable for us to offer that discount to our existing clients too.
Improved Contact Us form
This may not be as exciting (?) as our new newsletter subscriber form but still if worth mentioning.
We receive anywhere between five and ten inquiries through this form each month. That may not seem all that much – but we are noticing an incline in that number. Clearly, visitors are not only paying more attention to our website; they also want to know more about our services. We see that as a positive indicator for growth of our bodywork practice.
In recognising that our Contact Us form has gained importance, we also decided to rebuild it from the ground up. As with the newsletter subscription form, the new layout is more intuitive, which makes it easier to complete and submit.
Those who submit their questions online now also receive a more informative email in response. This email helps submitters find our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, and are given links to our policy pages. This now means that we need to update our FAQ page, which we will do next.
More importantly, we also reconfigured the ways by which are notified of new inquiries. This enables us to respond quicker to each submission, and probably more comprehensively as well. To launch into a little business-speak here: all of this contributes to the ways by which we want to excel in customer services.
Advaya Healing Bodywork, next generations…
Although I just covered some of the digital changes we made to our practice, more is going on in other areas.
For one, while we already moved on to the development of more tech-stuff, I am also continuing my studies in Advanced Myofascial Release. The physical upgrade of our practice will recommence in the near future, which will mostly focus on the completion of a toilet and shower.
I am also working on the development of some Advaya products, such as branded health care items – and perhaps even some cosmetics. It will still be a while before these can be offered; there’s quite a bit to do before we get to that point.
Another idea is to develop a few printed items as well. I will not yet share my ideas here – I think they’re pretty cool and would like to keep them as surprises.
Finally, I just want to thank all our wonderful Advaya people for supporting the development of our little practice. As we continuously promise to give all of you ‘extraordinary bodywork experiences’ we put all this work in to make good on that commitment. While the building and growing of any business comes with mundane, repetitive, and sometimes boring tasks, these become usually considerably more exciting when completing them makes for happier clients.
That, in the end, is what it’s all about.
